Matthew Watson
Matthew Watson first got involved with STN Video (formerly SendtoNews) during the early years of the company. He helped with strategic planning and team development while also finding time to grow his own start-up, Armorlogic, from start-up to a world leader in virtual web application firewalls for large enterprises and engineering a successful exit for all shareholders in 2014
Matthew Watson returned to STN Video in 2015, as chair and CEO, at the request of the board and a major investor. Since that time, he has led the company to over 67,000% revenue growth. Under Matthew Watson’s leadership, STN Video has grown from a start-up to the largest sports online video platform in North America above ESPN, Yahoo, CBS Sports and MSN in sports video viewers and views.
In 2018, STN expanded into other verticals like lifestyle, business and culture becoming consistently one of the top 10 largest online video platforms across all content categories. Over that time, STN Video has grown from 1 million unique viewers to over 50 million per month, and from 20 million video views to over 2 billion per month.
With a focus on serving publishers, STN grew during this time from serving a few publishers to over 2000 and winning numerous awards along the way including:

Matthew Watson holds a BA and JD from the University of British Columbia. Matthew lives in Victoria, B.C. with his family. When not traveling on business, he enjoys everything Victoria has to offer.
