STN Video CEO
Matthew Watson first got involved with STN Video (formerly SendtoNews) during the early years of the company. He helped with strategic planning and team development while also finding time to grow his own start-up, Armorlogic.
As CEO, Matthew grew the BC-based Armorlogic into a world leader in web application security for large enterprises. The company was sold to Alert Logic in 2012, and Matthew continued on as an executive through 2014.
Matthew Watson returned to STN Video in 2015. He has since led the company to over 14,000% revenue growth in the past 5 years. Under Matthew Watson’s leadership, STN Video has grown from a start-up to the largest sports online video platform in North America.
STN Video recently became one of the top 10 largest online video platforms across all content categories. Since 2014, STN Video has gone from 1 million unique viewers to over 50 million per month, and from 20 million video views to over 1.5 billion per month. STN Video now consistently ranks first on Comscore above ESPN, Yahoo, CBS Sports and MSN in sports video viewers and views, and in the top 10 for overall video views.
Matthew Watson began his career in the technology sector as a senior executive with ACD Systems. Watson was part of the team that grew ACD Systems from a digital imaging software startup to global leader in digital imaging technology.
After ACD Systems, Matthew joined Carmanah Technologies as Chief Operating Officer. Over his time with Carmanah, he grew the company from a marine lighting start-up to a global leader in Solar LED lighting.
Matthew Watson holds a BA and JD from the University of British Columbia. Matthew lives in Victoria, B.C. with his family. When not traveling on business, he enjoys everything Victoria has to offer.
