One of the world’s leading publications in digital video advertising sought out SendtoNews CEO Matthew Watson as a thought leader on how GDPR compliance affects World Cup ad spend.
AdExchanger examined how marketers interested in sports are adjusting to the new regulations in a recent article.
“GDPR probably doesn’t affect the spend committed ahead of time by World Cup advertisers, but it has impacted implementation,” says Watson. He continues to illustrate that as many publishers haven’t had the time to either update to the new regulations or gather the necessary consent, the data brands would normally apply could be ineffective.
